De Bono's Six Thinking Hats
Team 16 used De Bono's Six Thinking Hats as we critically discussed our focus statement, 'Gladiators are Entertaining,' as part of our Ancient Roman topic.

ART - Ancient Roman Mazes
Salve, Team 16
To continue our Ancient Roman study - we are going to look at Roman Mazes.
Let's look at how and why the Romans made mazes, and then discover how to design them for ourselves. Once we have had a 'go' and practised 3 or 4 maze designs on newsprint, we will transfer our best design onto cartridge paper, then use a wax and dye technique to bring them alive.

Ancient Roman Board Games
So far, our social studies topic, 'Ancient Romans,' has seen us research Gladiators, government, geography, clothing, Roman daily life, and now, Ancient Roman board games. Here are Brandy and Daniel battling it out for 'Champion' status, playing 'Calculi' or 'game of the stones.'
Harlen's 'Paper chain blokes.'
As part of our series on procedural writing, we wrote instructions on how to make, 'paper chain people.' The students produced some exceptional pieces of written work, and even more awesome 'chains.' They didn't taste as nice as the sherbet we made last week, though!
